Background
WK Wazalendo Foundation was established in August 2020 in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation initials (WK) means Wa Kenya or Kenyans combined with the word Wazalendo it becomes Patriotic Kenyans.
WK founder Mr. Andrew Meme always has a vision of changing the livelihoods of the community and that is where the core principles of WK Wazalendo Foundation are derived from. While in Wazalendo Kirindara Youth Group,Mr. Meme initiated programs that would benefit and impact the community especially the proposal for Kirindara Water Project which he still pursues upto date.Water being a source of livelihoods, has remained a challenge in Igembe North forcing more than 50% of residents to trek many kilometers to the neares borehole.
Mr. Meme believe that with water to households the residents will be able to farm and dedicate their time to income generating activities thus reducing the levels of poverty. This challenge amongst others form the core agendas that WK Wazalendo Foundation is pursuing in order to bring sustainability to the community.
